    Who's who

    There are three identical families of five. Nobody's role is public: you learn who people are by hearsay and trust.

    The Godfather one per family

    How to win

    Eliminate the rival Godfathers. When a Godfather is eliminated, their whole family is out of the game. The last family with a living Godfather wins. Any player can be eliminated, not just Godfathers.

    A Godfather can't be eliminated while any of their original Family members are alive. Shoot a protected Godfather and the shot doesn't count. You are eliminated instead.

    • When a family's last Family member falls, the Constable announces that their Godfather is exposed. The Constable won't say who the Godfather is.

    Kill shots

    You can only eliminate someone by spending a kill shot. Everyone except the Godfather gets one a week, and unused shots stack.

    • The Godfather gets no kill shots unless they are the last surviving member of their family. The Constable decides when that's true.
    • With no kill shot, you can still identify opponents, but you can't eliminate them.

    Making a hit

    Approved blasters

    • Nerf and other foam blasters
    • Water guns
    • Rubber-band guns
    • Airsoft guns

    Banned

    • BB, pellet and paintball guns
    • Anything that could injure someone
    • Hands, even if they launch a rubber band

    Counts as a hit

    • The target's body
    • Clothes the target is wearing

    Doesn't count

    • Bags, held objects or vehicles
    • The face. The shooter loses that kill shot.

    Don't be excessive. Anything powerful, airsoft included, is body shots only. Be an adult. Don't be dumb. You are responsible for your actions.

    Report every elimination within 24 hours. The shooter and the victim both report it to the Constable on their private line in the players' area. If a hit isn't reported in time, the Constable may issue a recovery: the elimination is cancelled and the victim stays in. The Constable settles disputes, and the Constable's decision is final.

    Self-defense

    If you have no kill shot (or you're the Godfather) and someone attacks you, you may fire back.

    • If you hit your attacker first, the attack fails. You both survive, and your attacker loses the kill shot they were using.
    • If you hit each other at about the same moment, the Constable decides.

    Recruiting

    The Godfather and the Family can grow the gang. Anyone 14 or older who isn't currently playing as Hired Muscle can be recruited, including people who aren't in the game yet.

    • Family members need the Godfather's approval before they recruit.
    • Report every recruit to the Constable. Recruits can't eliminate anyone until the Constable confirms them, and then they get weekly kill shots like everyone else.
    • Try to recruit a rival Family member or Godfather and they won't join you, but they may pretend to.

    The turn. Once per game, a Godfather may turn one Hired Muscle to their family. They must tell the person plainly that they're being turned, and report it to the Constable. If the target is actually a Family member or Godfather, the turn is wasted, nobody is told it failed, and the target may play along.

    Friendly fire

    If you eliminate someone from your own family, they're still out, and you lose your license to kill for the rest of the game. You stay in and can still gather information for your family. The Constable tells you privately.

    Secrecy

    • Don't show, forward or screenshot your role card or any message from the Constable.
    • When you're eliminated, don't reveal your role. The only exception is a Godfather, whose elimination is announced.
    • Dead players tell no tales. Once you're out, don't pass information to anyone still playing.
    • Loose lips sink ships.

    Safe zones

    No eliminations in these places.

    ChurchServices and church functions, including Dove Leadership conferences, Mexico Mission trips and The Furnace.
    SchoolSchool grounds and school events. Don't bring blasters to school.
    WorkAnyone's workplace.
    VehiclesIn or around moving cars, or while anyone is driving.
    HomesPrivate homes, unless the homeowner's spouse agrees. Arranging that has its own risks.
    Open seasonYouth functions are the exception. Anything goes, within the rules.
